About Shunta

Shunta Antwi is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 25 years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based care. She provides confidential telehealth therapy for adults across Texas experiencing anxiety, depression, significant life transitions, spiritual concerns, unhealthy patterns, relationship challenges, women's issues, and parenting or family-related concerns.

Many of Shunta's clients are ambitious, high-achieving women who carry invisible emotional burdens while balancing careers, relationships, family responsibilities, and the expectations they place on themselves. She also welcomes adults from all walks of life who are seeking a safe, supportive space to improve their mental and emotional well-being.

Shunta believes that healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and understood. Her goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly explore their experiences, gain insight into their challenges, and build the confidence to move forward with greater resilience and hope.

She views therapy as a collaborative journey. Every client brings a unique story, strengths, values, and goals, which is why she takes an individualized approach to care. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, Shunta works alongside each client to develop a personalized therapy approach that supports meaningful, lasting change.

Her work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, they identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge self-limiting beliefs, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. Drawing from CBT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based techniques when appropriate, Shunta equips clients with practical tools to manage difficult emotions, build resilience, strengthen self-confidence, improve relationships, and create healthier patterns that support long-term emotional wellness.

Above all, Shunta believes that healing is possible. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship concerns, a major life transition, or simply looking for a greater sense of balance and fulfillment, she is committed to walking alongside you with compassion, encouragement, and personalized, evidence-based care.

Her mission is to help clients move beyond simply coping with life's challenges and begin living with greater peace, confidence, purpose, and emotional well-being. She is especially passionate about helping high-achieving women recognize that they don't have to carry everything alone—and that prioritizing their own mental health is not a sign of weakness, but a meaningful step toward living a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Clients are given tools to understand and manage their emotions by examining, challenging, and changing unwanted thoughts and replacing them with healthier ways of looking at events and situations.

Client Reviews

“I’ve worked with different therapists before, but Shunta stands out. She helped me identify patterns I didn’t see on my own and gave me tools that I still use today. I feel more confident and emotionally grounded because of our sessions.”

“I was honestly a little nervous starting therapy, but Shunta made it feel comfortable right away. She listens without judgment and somehow asks the right questions that make you think deeper. I’ve noticed a real difference in how I handle stress now.”
